illness, recovery, party

Flat-party tomorrow night! I will charge my camera batteries tonight so that there will be some pictures posted on the blog over the weekend for those of you unable to attend to see. For people who can make it, come to 6/1 Forrest Rd. anytime after 8.

My newest Edinburgh update: every single person here has a cold now, so be happy if you are on the beach like Emina or if you are healthy for that matter. It's all about hydration and vitamins.

g-news

I look forward to hearing updates on what everybody is doing, so I'll get the ball rolling by saying what I've been up to the past couple weeks since I've seen some of you. Classes started last week and I am sitting in on a few - TL (now known as LCTG), LFD, PMR. There are ten new people in the program and the ones I have met so far all seem very friendly. It's interesting, it's a completely different make-up from our group. Btw, Manuel and Verena, the German girl unfortunately doesn't know Skat. Will have to keep searching...

Am settling into my office in 5 Buccleuch, in CSTR's new digs. It's really nice up there, with a view over the meadows and good facilities in general.

I also bought a ticket to go to St. Petersburg in early November. A strange time to go there, I know, but I am really excited about it. It is just for 8 days, but it should be a blast; I have wanted to go there for a long time. I will go home at Christmas too.

Hopefully I have more of a chance to travel around this year than in the MSc year.

Hope you are all doing well. Steini, did you make it to Stanstead on time?

dispatch from auld reekie

Well, I hope that everyone who has left already is settling nicely into your new places and situations. I look forward to hearing from everyone. Not much new here, other than the fact that I matriculated and that George Square is once again swamped with undergrads and people offering free stuff.

Anyone who wants to come visit Edinburgh someday certainly has a place to stay with Maria and me.

Oh, and the first Steini update: he said they would make it to Dunse by last night and that "Scotland is hilly."

speed and teeth rhyme in german

To the pobrecitos who left early last night, you missed some really great poetry and a cathartic dance-a-thon. To all the people who took pictures, if you had a digital camera it would be great if you could email the pictures to the list or post them on the blog, because I forgot to bring my camera.

To all of you who are leaving today, bon voyage and we will be in touch soon. Best with everything you do,
Gabe

Sidebar links

I put some links on the sidebar; it's just some stuff that I read regularly and which I thought people might be interested in or get a kick out of. If other people want to add their own links, you can just alter the template accordingly by following what I have there, e.g. "Manuel's Links" etc. I will add stuff periodically.

unificator

I thought this would be a good way to stay in touch now that people will be dispersing all around the world. If anyone wants to change the template, by all means do so. I just chose a stock template to begin with, but it would be nice to customize it. Have fun!
